We are seeking experienced Cable Technicians for our growing team. This role involves installation, termination, and testing of various types of voice and data cables, primarily in new construction environments. The ideal candidate will maintain a highly analytical and problem-solving mindset while working as a team player.


Key Responsibilities

  • Install, service, and maintain IT equipment
  • Install and terminate various cable types in new construction environments
  • Test and certify cable installations
  • Build out MDF/IDFs and install wireless access points (WAPs)
  • Install J Hooks, D-rings, cable tray, and other cable supports
  • Read and interpret blueprints and schematics
  • Perform site surveys and develop scope of work and materials list
  • Troubleshoot electrical issues using various testing devices
  • Maintain records of completed work and update via electronic system
  • Communicate with on-site customer representatives about project status
  • Ensure compliance with electrical and fire safety codes
  • Coordinate project timelines and execution with Leadership Team


Required Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 2+ years of experience in IT Maintenance and Installation, Cable Installation, or Camera System Installation
  • Knowledge of telecom systems, TCP/IP networks, CCTV security, access control & wireless solutions
  • Proficiency in cable pulling, placement, termination, testing, and labeling
  • Understanding of industry standards (NEC, TIA/EIA, BICSI)
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and adapt to changes
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to pass background checks and drug screenings


Preferred Qualifications

  • BICSI certification (current or past)
  • Industry-specific certifications (Systimax, Panduit, Beldon, Corning)
  • Experience with fiber installation and termination
  • Knowledge of conduit installation


Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds
  • Comfortable working in small spaces
  • Capable of operating BOOM or scissor lifts and working at heights
  • Able to stand, walk, and work on ladders for extended periods


Travel Requirements

  • This position requires extensive travel (up to 80% travel with multiple overnight stays)
  • Ability to travel for 1-6 weeks at a time
  • Flexibility to work on-call, early morning, day, night, and weekend shifts as required


Tools and Equipment

  • Must have basic telecommunication tools and PPE
  • Reliable personal transportation required
